The large red house situated on one of the “sacred hills” of Antananarivo, is surely the most familial location for our Fihavanana Association, after about fifteen years of collaboration and support offered to the children who reside there. Around fifty children actually live at Topaza. The orphans without a mother or children who are abandoned are entrusted by the Tribunal of Minors in the direction of the center. Most of them arrive very young, some barely aged a few months, with some exception, stay at Topaza until they are financially independent. The center is the property of the FJKM, (Protestant Church of Madagascar) but they are essentially sustained by the Fihavanana Association and by a French woman, who is a member of an assisting association based in Paris, named Mrs. Claudine Roditi. We have all decided to dedicate a great part of our life and our time to the children of Madagascar.
Over the many years of collaboration between Fihavanana and Topaza, the administration has been managed by Madame Lala, a dear friend of Fihavanana who passed away six years ago, by Madame Tantely, then by Mrs. Herizo and finally by Mr. David; all very professional people that have the well-being of children at heart.
