What is the effect for you, heading out of your comfortable home, when you come face-to-face with children digging through trash looking for something to eat or to sell? Looking at them lying on the side walk as if it was their bedroom? Surely it is the same effect as it is for us, despite the many years passed here in Antananarivo.

One never gets accustomed to poverty and it is always a slap in the face to see! That is why our president, Cinzia, since 1977, decided to act for the children in the area in which she lives.
The collaboration of the Fihavanana Association is solidified through the aid of Sister Viviane who follows, controls, and researches which children are most needy in the area of Mahatony, Antananarivo and others!
In 1999, the Fihavanana Association did what was necessary to enlarge the School of Saint Joseph through the construction of four new classrooms and then began to support the scholarships of around one hundred children.
Since the children have grown, they are now fifty-eight.
